There is practically no better place. Anything you can think of is about a minute walk. And mostly not just once. There are two multiplex cinemas, one of them even with advanced perception technology 4DX. In addition to multiplex cinemas, there is one of the best and largest shopping centers in the city – Anděl City Nový Smíchov, countless premium restaurants of domestic, international and vegan-vegetarian cuisine, bars, cafes, pastry shops and grocery stores full of specialties from all around the world.
The network of pharmacies, general practitioners and specialists is complemented by cosmetic services, spas (even the beer ones) and all sorts of cultural activities. Sports facilities for all ages can be found in the Mrázovka Park, same as variety of schools – from kindergartens to universities.
An indisputable advantage is the walking distance to the historic city center under the patronage of UNESCO, but virtually any block of buildings from your house to the north and west conceals a piece of history, and every second corner you come across reveals a church. The Romanesque period, the Gothic period, the Baroque period.
For example the Church of st. Wenceslas, Monastery and church of st. Gabriel, Sacré Coeur church, Smíchov Synagogue and Ethnographic Museum by the Kinský’s Summer Palace. Of course, the dominant feature will be the Petřín Gardens and Tower, the observatory there and the largest castle complex in Central Europe – Prague Castle.
Excellent transport service is provided mainly by metro station line B Anděl, which is within one minute walk. Metro B offers a quick and convenient transfer to the city center, while at the other end, in conjunction with the bus line #100, provides a smooth transfer to the airport. At the metro station you will also find a tram node suitably integrated into modern architecture. Lines 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20 and 21 will take you comfortably to all corners of the city. If you want to get out of the city, there are twenty city bus lines available and connections to all of Europe is provided from the nearby bus station.
Parking is available directly in the street and thanks to the purple city zones also for visitors. You can also arrange a long-term garage standing in several parking houses within the business district Nový Smíchov.
You will find plenty of freely accessible greenery, gardens and parks in the immediate vicinity. First of all, there are 3 blocks of reserved park green with fountains and the Church of St. Wenceslas, followed by the Portheimka garden, then a little bit further there are Diezenhoferovy sady and Zítkovy sady across the Palacký’s Bridge on the opposite bank of the Vltava river. But the highlight is definitely the Sacré Coeur park, freely accessible from Kartouzská Street or directly from the shopping center Nový Smíchov, which overflows with greenery, grassy areas and breathtaking views onto all of Prague. From the park you can go to the mini-ZOO and then to the giant historical Kinský’s Garden, which then brims over to the beautiful park of Petřín.
